We use two primary techniques, which are conventional MOET (Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer) and IVF/OPU (In Vitro Fertilization and Ovum Pick-Up).
Both are robust techniques that have had a great impact on modern cattle breeding for many years. In 2021, the distribution in the European market was such that 80% of the produced embryos came from MOET and 20% from IVF.

MOET work, also known as flush work or simply ET, covers a technique that through hormone treatments produces several fertilized eggs (embryos) from the best breeding animals. These embryos can then be either transplanted into surrogate mothers (recipients) or frozen for later use.
This principle covers the extraction of immature eggs directly from the breeding animal’s ovaries. The eggs are then matured for a day in special incubators. The next day, sperm cells are added to the matured eggs. They are then grown further in the laboratory for a week, after which they can be transplanted into recipients.
